I got a lot of questions about how we can change our YouTube URL and name as they don’t like the old one. That’s why I had to write this post and I will be explaining that here.

How to Change YouTube URL
I am sure that when you started your YouTube channel, you picked a URL that doesn’t match with your brand now or you might just not like it. Whatever, if you want to change your URL then there is no need to make a new channel as I have a way to change your URL without having to undo your work.
So if you want to change your YouTube channel’s URL then you must fulfill the following requirements.
- Your channel should have 500+ subscribers
- Your channel should have a profile photo
- Your channel must be 30 days old
- Your channel should have channel art
- Your channel should have a good reputation (you should not have any strikes against your channel for posting copyrighted or against YouTube’s terms of service content).
If you fulfill all the points above then you can easily change your URL. So now, let me tell you how to do it.
- Firstly, sign in to your account and then click on your profile picture and then go to settings
- After this, you will see a page with many options, click on “channel” and then “advanced settings”.
- Then you will have to scroll down until you see an option of “status and features” so click on that and again scroll down.
- You will find an option of “custom URL” over there. If you are eligible for that then click on “here” in the custom URL box and a page will come on your screen.
- On that page, you will see an option of “you are eligible for a custom URL” just click on that.
- After this, you will see another page with two options, select one of them and agree to terms, and then click on “change URL”.
- After clicking on that, click on “confirm choice” and that’s it.

How to Change YouTube Name
If you don’t like the existing name of your YouTube channel and want to change it then you are in the right place. I will tell you how to change it without losing your data.
So let’s get started.
- First of all sign in to your YouTube account and go to settings.
- After it, a page will appear on your screen, look for an option of “edit on Google” on the right side.
- Another page will appear with your first and last name. So just edit that and click on “OK”.
You can also add a nickname by scrolling down on the same page.
Note
If you change your YouTube name then it will change your name in all Google products like Gmail.
