The Many Benefits of Having More Than One Career

A multi-hyphenate career is a career where you work across several fields. You may be an author, blogger, designer, photographer, editor, illustrator, etc.

Juggling multiple careers is difficult because there are always deadlines to meet. You must be organized and flexible. Styling jobs are usually last minute, but when you’re on set, you should smile. Multi-hyphenate artists should always strive to be at the intersection between various industries. They should figure out how to strategically leverage their various creative talents to create the exact career path they want to have.

Follow Your Instincts

Your career is going to shift constantly. You’ll be doing different jobs every few years. Don’t get stuck in any particular job or field. When you’re ready, move on to something else. You’ll always be doing what’s right for you. And that’s the coolest fucking thing anyone has ever done!

How To Describe A  MultiHyphenate Career?

Since I never really wanted to have a conventional “monocultural” career, that’s not what I did. I’m sorry, but I didn’t know how else to answer the question. I honestly thought I could make myself understood, but I guess I couldn’t.

“I work a day-job in communications at Xtremelabs, I was also interviewing record-artists, and freelance copywriting for other tech companies, and writing for publications. I didn’t do any of these things as my “full-time job”.

Most people who interview you probably won’t be impressed by your job title or what you do. Instead, they’ll want to know about your skills and experience. You should try to make sure that you’re prepared for this question.

How To Plan A  MultiHyphenate Career

People who work in the gig economy often work as independent contractors instead of employees. This means that they are free to choose what kind of job they take and how much money they make.

However, this also means that they aren’t protected by certain laws and regulations that protect employees.

A multi-hyphenate is someone who works for multiple organizations. This person may be a writer, an artist, a musician, a designer, etc.

Angel investors, fractional leaders, consultants, freelancers, and graphic designers are all part of the gig economy. People who choose to do this kind of work often make more money than those who work full time. This is true for both men and women.

Multi-hyphenates often struggle to define themselves because they’re constantly changing jobs. They may jump from client to client, but they also try out new things. This allows them to learn about different types of work and how they affect others.

What Tips Are There For Multi-hyphenates?

  • Multi-hyphen careers are hard work, but you shouldn’t give up if you’re having trouble finding a job.
  • You should try to make your working hours as productive as possible by using a diary or planner.
  • You also need to make sure you take breaks when you feel tired.
  • You should pick and choose your projects carefully, because if you take on too many projects, you’ll end up overwhelmed by them.
  • You should leave yourself enough time to work on each project to its best possible level.
  • Multi-hyphenates should respect themselves by setting boundaries.
  • They should also know how to promote themselves properly. Self-promotion is important to being a multi-hyphen.
