In a separate instaCart shoppers app, you can apply to be a shopper and once accepted, sign up to shop for and deliver groceries to customers in your area..
As an Instacart shopper, you will shop at the stores that InstaCart has contracts with in your area. In Los Angeles that includes Whole Foods, Aldi and Ralphs. In other parts of the country, you can become a personal shopper with Instacart in any store.
Many people who work as personal shoppers earn over $20 an hour. Some even get paid more than $25 per hour.
Instacart Shopper Types
In-store shoppers get more money than full service shoppers because they’re cheaper. Full service shoppers get better benefits, but they cost more.
Full-service shoppers deliver groceries to customers’ homes. These shoppers do the grocery shopping and delivery.
Customers order groceries online using the Instacart app.You can choose to accept or reject the incoming order. If accepted, you’ll drive to that store and shop or pick up an order and deliver it to your customer.
When doing the grocery shopping, make sure you look at the quality and expiration dates so your customers are happy that everything they receive was fresh!
What Do You Need In Order To Be An Instacart Shopper?
To become a personal shopper you must be at least 21 years old and meet the following requirements:
1) You must be able to work at least 20 hours per week
2) You must be available to start working within 30 days
3) You must have reliable transportation
4) You must be able and willing to lift up to 50 pounds
5) You must be able or willing to stand for long periods
6) You must be able pay for yourself
7) You must be able pass a background check
8) You must be able provide proof of identity
9) You must be able prove you have access to a vehicle
10) You must be able show proof of a valid driver’s license
11) You must be able drive a car 12) You must be able obtain a social security number
13) You must be able get a credit card
14) You must be able open an account
15) You must be able maintain a checking account
16) You must be able sign a lease 17) You must be able be able to afford insurance
18) You must be able have a valid passport
19) You must be able complete a criminal record check
20) You must be able meet any other requirements set by your employer
You will be asked to verify your phone number and email address before starting the job. A background check will be done by Instacart, and if you pass, you’ll be invited to an interview. After passing the interview, you will be given a list of tasks to do.
Hiring sessions last about two hours. You should expect to be paid $10 per hour. You’ll need to pay taxes on your earnings. You won’t get any benefits.A side business is something that you do while working your main job. You may work part time or full time, but you still get paid by your main job. Grocery shopping is a side hustle because you’re making money off of your main job.
